Summer Style: The Plaid Shirt
I’m so happy the plaid trend is continuing to hold strong this summer, because I can’t get enough of it. Over the years I’ve worn plaid skirts, plaid pants, plaid scarves, and plaid jackets, but my favorite piece will always be the plaid shirt. It’s classic. Dress it up or dress it down. You can’t go wrong with a plaid shirt.
Summer Style: The Tie-Front Plaid Shirt
I found this plaid shirt at Target last week and had to get it. Well, at least it sounded good when I said, “I had to get it.” Doesn’t it just scream “Let’s go on a picnic!” to you? That’s what I hear when I look at it. I enjoy summer picnics, and for me picnics and plaid are always connected. When I do go on a picnic I typically have a plaid picnic blanket. With the warmer weather I’m definitely ready to take it out for an adventure this summer. And a wicker picnic basket. Of course. You can’t have a real summer picnic without the wicker basket.
Let’s talk about styling. With the tie-front, this plaid shirt is destined to have a casual feel. I’m loving it paired with my favorite pair of dark jeans, sandals, and a simple necklace. The cut is loose enough to be comfortable without looking sloppy.
The best thing about this shirt is that it doesn’t have a collar, which is great for layering. I love that I can toss a light sweater or denim jacket over it on cool evenings without it feeling bulky.
Now I just need to plan my picnic menu. Usually, I go for a cheese board and a bottle of wine. What is your favorite bottle of wine?
What do you love to eat on a picnic?
XOXO,
