Fall Patterns
I’ve been loving florals this summer, (like this Miley Maxi dress that I will absolutely still be wearing in the early fall months) and I am not going to give them up for fall. Take a hint from nature and go big with patterns and colors in fall. When I’m not wearing vintage-inspired floral prints this year, you will find me in plaid.
Fall Colors
While you don’t have to be tied to the colors of the season in your clothes, I love getting inspiration from the colors and textures around me in the moment. For fall, that means golds, oranges, reds, and rich browns. This year’s runway shows featured a lot of stunning reds, and I have to confess that I’m loving this fall 2017 fashion trend.
Don’t fret if you aren’t ready to go out full force with red head to toe. It can be a powerful statement color in small doses, too. A red bag is the perfect accessory for any fall outfit.
I’m dreaming of brown boots in every hue this year, and I intend to find the perfect chocolate brown skirt in a mid-length.
Fall Sweaters
In the Pacific Northwest, where I live, layers are a must. I have a collection of sweaters in varying thicknesses in my closet. But for the beginning of fall, the cardigan reigns supreme. I love to pair a soft t-shirt with long cardigans that has pockets – pockets make everything better.
Fall Coats
Staying with layers, let’s talk jackets. There is nothing better than a classic trench coat for fall. It’s a flattering look for everyone, and a staple item you can wear year after year.
Pair a long trench with a wide belt for a big statement look this fall.
